CLab UniCa and innovation: winning startups

Contamination Lab UniCa is an entrepreneurship education program promoted by CREA – Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship – and the University of Cagliari. It has over 400 participants to the first four editions, 50 elaborate ideas and 20 new startups. Startups got 30 prizes and awards and 750.000 euros in private investment. But only a part of the story is about numbers. We are going to talk about innovation through some successful CLab UniCa startups!

User-friendly experiential tourism

Born during the second edition of the program, Nausdream startup is the first tour operator dealing with coast trips. Through Nausdream’s portal and trading partners, users can book over 500 tourist experiences. Among them are: boat trips, onboard suppers, onboard appetizers,  holidays, mini cruises, offshore water sports, boat & breakfast. These experiences are available in over 20 Mediterranean, Asian e South American locations. Nausdream concluded a round of investments worth € 230.000 with Barcamper Ventures in June 2017.

The second edition of CLab UniCa also saw the debut of Babaiola, a travel search engine for the LGBT community. Due to its unique algorithm, the startup can show its users the best flight+hotel offers, an updated list of LGBT bars and events, gay only or gay friendly hotels. All this in over 100 European and International destinations! Thus all users will enjoy their holidays in freedom and with no discrimination. Recently, Babaiola has made an important partnership with Alpitur, increasing its tourist services.
